Building Homes And A Reputation

Dion McMullen, president of Londonbury Homes, describes the company as a "small" homebuilder that pays "great" attention to details. "We've been a force in the custom residential construction industry for more than 30 years," said McMullen, "and have built homes in some notable neighborhoods." Building homes that range in price from $400,000 to well over $1 million, Londonbury has a presence in a number of high-end communities. Nevillewood and Diamond Run, golf course communities, are only two of many examples.
The custom homebuilder, however, continues to do many homes off-site. Currently, Londonbury has several homes under way on multi-acre sites. "We do a good bit of business word-of-mouth," said McMullen. "Most off-site work comes to us because of our reputation."
While emphasizing the need for attention to details in materials and craftsmanship, McMullen said there is another area that requires the same focus, "You've got to give attention to the customer's needs and demands. After all, the home is probably the biggest single investment they will ever make in their lives."
Londonbury Homes is about to launch a new community—Springer Manor—for empty-nesters. Located in Moon Township, it will have 15 single-family detached homes of from 2,100 to 2,800 square feet, with first-floor master's suites and association exterior maintenance. Prices will start at $465,000 to $525,000, and up. The development sits on 22 acres of land, "but we're disturbing only six acres," said McMullen.
And you can bet they will get Londonbury's very close attention.
