K. Hovnanian has achieved its impressive results not by building vast tract communities, but by building one new home at a time. It's called the "build-on-your-lot concept," said Greg Pillen, director of marketing for the company's Canton, Ohio-based Division's Midwest Distribution Center. If you don't own a lot, K. Their Midwest Distribution Center, which buys and warehouses brand-name products in bulk, has responsibility for an extensive area, including southwestern Pennsylvania. Two new home galleries are located in this region, one in Greensburg and one in Washington. "Those two are the top two producing home galleries in this division," said Pillen.
Right now homebuyers can take advantage of incentives that include a media room at no additional cost, or $15,000 in options at no additional cost. Yet a third incentive involves an interest rate buy-down that, said Pillen, could save as much as $50,000 over the life of a mortgage.
"Right now," said Pillen, "we've got bargain pricing and record low interest rates, and the housing choices have never been greater. It's time to buy."
