Castriota Chevrolet has deep roots planted in South Hills
After graduating from South Hills High School, Anthony J. Castriota enlisted in the U.S. Army. He attended the University of Pittsburgh in the 1950s, and began selling cars on West Liberty Avenue. Castriota is still very much a part of South Hills, and so is the franchised new-car and truck dealership he established here in 1979.
Castriota Chevrolet, on West Liberty Avenue, can be considered a neighborhood landmark. The dealership is celebrating its 30th year. “We’re the only Chevrolet dealership in the city ‘proper,’” said Castriota. He supports a number of neighborhood efforts, including the Brookline Breeze 5K Run/Walk and local Little League teams.
“About 65 percent of our business is due either to repeats or referrals,” said Castriota. “That is the secret to our success.”
