Bill Gray Volvo relocates to new quarters in Peters Township

After 15 years on West Liberty Avenue, Bill Gray Volvo relocated to Peters Township, McMurray. “We simply outgrew our old facility,” said John Oswald, the General Manager, “thanks to the fact that demand for Volvo products was strong.”

The new facility, at 2897 Washington Rd., is larger and provides more capacity than the former site. Consequently, Bill Gray Volvo now has greater service capacity, more parts inventory and a greater selection of new and pre-owned vehicles.

Oswald, who lives in Peters Township, has a single word to describe the new quarters: “Awesome.” Relocated amid a growing customer base, Bill Gray Volvo is the only Volvo dealership between Peters Township and Charleston, West Virginia, about 200 miles south. As a result, said Oswald, the dealership picked up additional business after making the move in March.

Volvo has long had a reputation for extraordinary safety. It holds true for current and upcoming models, but the Swedish carmaker also gets a thumbs up when it comes to environmental, quality and design innovations. The 2010 XC60 crossover, as a matter of fact, is engineered to literally stop itself on a dime, thanks to an auto-braking feature that is a world-first as standard equipment. City Safety, as the feature is called, automatically applies the brakes at speeds up to 18 mph when a crash is imminent. It also emits an audible warning for the driver.

The feature leads some to believe the 2010 XC60 may be the safest passenger car ever.
